Result of Orienteering

Hi gang,

We are second for last week Orienteering in Houkang and Sengkang area!
Great Job guys!
Keep it up and we will continue to own!
The consistency is there, the spirit is there and last but not least the will to win is in all of you! I would like to say that Joel and I are glad that all of you have at least put in effort to do your best, despite during the orienteering itself many of you complaint, espectially the sec1s.

Joel and I have been observing all of you for a very long time. And we see that all of you have to improve in these areas:
Stamina
Fitness
OWL Spirit
knots skill

Most of you are doing fine, however, there are still some of you who cant be bothered! Trust me, by improving on these resoective areas, it will definitely benefit you in the long run and it will be a big leap nearer for Owl to win in the short run.
Just Do Your best! You will never regret!

ANNUAL PREPARATION and briefing

Hey dudes,

hope that all of you have a good rest after the challenging Orienteering yesterday. Isn't it an eye-opening experience for you, espectially the sec 1s? hope that all of you will be mentally and physically prepared for the next up coming major inter-patrol event, ANNUAL CAMP!

What is Annual Camp?
1) the "slackest" camp for the year
2) INTER-PATROL
3) no push up, unless you misbehave
4) 5 full days of 'guai lan' but fun activities
5) sleep in tent like overnight camp
6) building of imba structures (require gd knotz skill)
7) total of 5 meals to cook during the camp
8) an only event in 01 camp that require a great deal of talents to win
9) a camp that will definitely enable PL and APL to see your true-colour
10) physically (in a way due to sports and physical challenge between each patrol or batch) and mentally (skill showing) tiring

As mentioned yesterday, tomorrow will be a prep session for the upcoming Annual Camp. PLs are all instructed to plan our own activity on Monday.

AC Prep [12/5]monday
Duration: 3.30pm to 5.30pm
Reporting attire: PE attire
Reporting venue: Gym Hall Atrium
Things to bring: writing materials and brain full of creativities

For Wednesday, the j1s will be briefing you on the details of Annual Camp, following which we will have around 2 hours to continue our preparation in patrols. The details are as follows:
AC Briefing [14/5]wednesday
Duration: 3.30pm to 6.30pm
Reporting attire: PE attire
Reporting venue: Gym Hall Atrium
Things to bring: Writing materials, map&compass, first aids and knotz notes

We will need to plan:
1) Gateway
2) Kitchen Table +chair
3) Dustbin
4) Dresser
5) Clothes line
6) Shoe rack
7) Stove rack
8) 1 other gadget that we have to think of
9) banners+paint
*all the gadgets will have to be make from tecko!

As there is not much time left, be ready to come down after school to finish our preparation for for all this. we will have to finish everything listed above other than gateway and kitchen table+chair before the camp

Good luck, and may the best patrol win!

Orienteering (10/5)

Hi owl,

It have been an exhausting and definitely a busy week for all of us this week, due to various graded assignments and the unforgetable failing-spree for some of your standard tests. However, don't be cynical, the last but definitely not least activity for this week, ORIENTEERING!
It is inter-patrol, and I must highlight to all OwLs out there once again that this activity means a lot to us as it will bring us up in the inter-patrol standing (even though we are doing fine currently).

This competition is on the 10th of MAY, Saturday.
It will be held in the hougang/sengkang area. The details are as follows:
Duration: 8am to 1pm
Meeting Venue: Hougang MRT
Attire: PE Kit
Dismissal Venue: Sengkang MRT
Things to Bring: Small Haversack, water bottle, poncho, signed consent forms

I will be bringing the camera (to take picture of the checkpoint and the patrol first aid kit(to save your life like when you are foaming due to the long distance of hiking, Roy pls take note). It will be tiring few hours out in the open so please get sufficient rest the night before. We are aware that some of you guys have ushering duties for PTM, but please try to find a replacement. As for any of you that are unable to make it for orienteering for whatever reason, please email Yue Zheng at yz.neo@hotmail.com with your reason stated by today.

PLS REVISE YOUR MAP & COMPASS SKILL, any kind of knowledge will be able to help us. Boon King, we are expecting a lot from you!

Only Bryan will not be coming for Orienteering as he had told me before hand due to Maths Competition Training, so pls support and send him a message of encouragement if you can!
Remember what Ms Alicia Goh had stated on Wednesday? "We will not let anyone who will break our bond and camerade inside 01". If you had ever even think about it, please think twice before you are going commit a stupid action.

For the HOOD~~~~~OwL'[08] Hood~~~~~
Let own this Saturday

Standard Tests

Hi gang,

It seems that a lot of you did not put in efforts to study for your respective standard tests this week. Some of your reasons are "forget" and "have to mug for CCT". All these silly reasons are not acceptable for any scout activities. It is your resonsibility to study your CCTs before hand. You are all old enough to be able to balance your schedules properly.

The j1s are not please with how well most of you are performing, espectially the sec 1s. If you do not know how to study, please inform me before hand to arrange a revision session for you, just like before Overnight. It is very disappointing to see that most of you still have the 'can't be bother attitude'. I want all of you to have that enthusiasm and the OWL SPIRIT within you all the time, espectially when the next major inter-patrol activities are coming up, Orienteering this Saturday and ANNUAL CAMP end of this month!

However, in the mean time, please focus on tomorrow tests, practical tests for map and compass and first aid. Since CCT for most of you are over, there is no excuse that you will 'have no time to study'. that's owl's sh*t.

There are still many more areas for improvement...
