Hi all
Firstly, I want to say thank you for those who had put effort for today's mini - olympic 1! Although we had manpower problem in the track and field, we were still able to overcome 'the pundit' together as a patrol, and moreover, we got first for 2 events! WELL DONE! Joel and I really appreciated ll your effort, namely the 3 unsung heroes other than the two of us: Benedict, for never give up, KY, for his enthusiasm to help and for our only sec 2, Jason, who manned all the sec 2s track n field!
Next up, we will be having patrol meeting on the upcoming next monday the 28th of July! simply, we will be adopting Sailmaker's whipping to retie the fray part of our ropes from now on. this is obviously to maintain the quality of our ropes. on the more important notes, our dear FS will be collecting the first round of DONATION DRAW. If you are still unable to sell all your tickets, please use your money to buy the rest of them. I believe that most of you have put effort into selling everything, like Joel and myself. to be frank, we sold more than what the sec 3s' target is! which is 9 booklets, we sold more than 15 booklets each! i hope than on monday, i will see you asking for more booklets to sell, rather than get a scolding from Jun Jie for not completing your batch's target.
The details of Patrol Meeting are as follows:
Patrol Meeting [28/7]
Duration: 3.30pm to 6pm
Reporting venue: Gym Hall Atrium
Reporting attire: PE attire
Things to bring: Scissors, donation draw tickets, donation draw money
The following is the allocation of timings for the collection:
3.30pm to 4.00pm: Ventures
4.00pm to 4.20pm: Sec 1s
4.20pm to 4.40pm: Sec 2s
4.40pm to 5.00pm: Sec 3s
it is an official activity, and i do not expect the attendance to be like today's mini olympic again
On wednesday, there will be the much anticipated Mini Olympics II! After today's tiring and intensely competitive session of track events, as well as the fun games played, we will be continuing with 3 more games on wednesday, namely soccer, frisbee and captain's ball. The details for the activity are as follows:
Mini Olympics II [30/7]
Duration: 3.30pm to 6.30pm
Reporting venue: Raffles Square (there will be Muster Parade on Wednesday)
Reporting attire: Full Scout Uniform
Things to bring: PE attire and a great deal of enthusiasm =)
Have a good rest, and well done to OWL's very own 3 unsung heroes!

Activities next week!
Hi guys,
Finally official acts since term 2! R all of you excited? nostalgia huh... lol
Anyway, this coming Monday will be test TAKING!
Test Taking [21/7]
Duration: 3.30pm to 6.00pm
Reporting venue: Gym Hall Atrium
Reporting attire: PE attire
Things to bring: Stationary, writing paper, notes
"...Ample time has been given for preparation for these tests; please do not give lack of time as an excuse for not studying. Remember that this is the final round of tests this year; if you do not pass this round, you will have failed to attain your Scout Standard/Advanced Scout Standard/First Class Scout Badge this year." halliim said a few days ago in his email.
SEC1
for knotz and lashingz, only Roy had passed, for the three of you please go and revise and practise!
as for first aid, only Roy and Benedict had passed!
as for Map and Compass, ALL OF YOU ARE STILL BRONZE!
this will be the last test taking for the year, so please do your best for it!
"The J1s really hope that you will do better for this round of tests. Your performance during Standards Tests 1 was dismal; as of now, only 1 of you has attained the Scout Standard, which is the lowest Standard. You might think that these tests are unimportant, but bear in mind that how well you fare in these tests will directly affect your CCA points. There is no point in thinking “Oh, maybe I’ll slack off now, and pass all my tests in Sec 3.” It is extremely hard to pass more than 1 standard within a year, especially because your workload in school increases drastically in Sec 2 and 3. In fact, your Sec 1 year is the best year to pass as many tests and attain the highest standard you can, while your school life remains relatively easy. Make full use of this holiday week."
SEC2
all of you had done rather well, or i must say even better than most of the sec 3s in test taking! if possible, you can complete gold within this year! that will be very imba of you! nothing else to say, i believe you all will study for the test taking!
"It is heartening to see that most of you have progressed to the Silver and Gold Standard at last, as it should be for Sec 2s. However, there are still a few of you who are lagging behind at Bronze Standard. In fact, several of you have yet to even attain Scout Standard, which is really quite disappointing. Remember that as Sec 2s, you are expected to attain ASS by the end of this year. Please do put in greater effort for these tests; as you should know, your test results directly affect your CCA points. Bear in mind also that we J1s will be looking for PLs and APLs who know their Scout Skills well, so that they may teach their patrol well. Attaining your Advanced Scout Standard Badge this year (Silver Standard) will also give you a headstart in attaining your First Class Scout Badge next year, which is needed if you wish to pursue the Chief Commissioner’s Award."
ALL THE BEST FOR THE LAST TEST TAKING OF THE YEAR
after the stressful test taking, there will be no activity on this wednesday.
instead, there will be MINI OLYMPIC this upcoming Saturday! this is one of the very much anticipated event in 01.
This will be a day of fun and friendly competition among patrols where you pit your physical and sporting skills against one another. Come down full of enthusiasm and play your heart out in this morning of fun and games, as this will count towards the Inter-Patrol standings!
Mini Olympics (Part 1) [26/7]
Duration: 8am to 1pm
Reporting venue: Gym Hall Atrium
Reporting attire: PE attire
Things to bring: Change of clothes, water bottles, badminton and tennis rackets (optional)
